Since 2015, Michael has also served as Chief Creative Officer for Something Else* Strategies creating work for Conservative candidates running for President, U.S. Senate, U.S. House and Governor.

While he's been recognized locally, regionally and nationally for his writing, Michael's true strength lies in his versatility. With a unique background in both advertising and marketing, Michael is able to provide effective concepts and executions for everything from a basic promotion to a multimedia brand campaign.

In 2020, Michael co-authored his first book with longtime friend and colleague Mike Sullivan, president at LOOMIS. “The Voice of the Underdog: How Challenger Brands Create Distinction By Thinking Culture First” unpacks the poorly understood and grossly underleveraged connection between brand and culture. Filled with fascinating case studies, entertaining stories, and engaging insights, the book examines the true essence of what makes a company a challenger brand, unveils how successful challengers of all sizes use culture to create extraordinary brand distinction, and finishes with a detailed blueprint for building a transcendent culture.

Michael first honed his creative abilities at Tracy-Locke in Dallas where he was part of the elite "Radio Monsters" writing team comprised of the agency’s top six radio writers. While there, Michael worked on international brands including Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Lipton and Ocean Spray and won both regional and national awards for radio. He later spent five years at Temerlin McClain writing and executing nationally recognized television, radio and print campaigns for American Airlines, GTE, Long John Silver’s and JCPenney.

In 1999, Michael left TM to help start The Loomis Agency where he served as Creative Director, Broadcast Producer, Lyricist and ultimately, Executive Creative Director. Michael helped build LOOMIS into a top regional agency serving clients including Papa John's Pizza, Pier 1, Stanley Steemer, Texas Dairy Queen, Rug Doctor and dozens of others.

Michael's extensive education includes a B.A. in journalism from Washington and Lee University and a Master's degree in Mass Communication from the University of Georgia with a focus on strategy and research. He is also a graduate of Portfolio Center, one of the country's elite schools for creative and conceptual advertising, as well as the Stagen Leadership Academy in Dallas.

Michael is a past president of the Dallas All Sports Association and a former board member of the Dallas Ad League where he was named Member of the Year in 2007. He lives in Flower Mound with his wife Ginger who is a Realtor, and their children, Matt and Caroline.
